Eileen Meslar

Eileen Meslar is currently a staff photographer at the Chicago Tribune. Prior to working at the Chicago Tribune, Meslar worked as a staff photographer at Omaha World-Herald in Omaha, Nebraska, and as a freelance photographer in the Chicago area for multiple news outlets. From 2017-2020 she was a staff photographer for the Telegraph Herald newspaper in Dubuque, Iowa. Meslar hails from a southwest suburb of Chicago and graduated with a BFA Summa Cum Laude in Photography and Intermedia and a minor in Journalism from Western Michigan University in 2011. She has freelanced for several news outlets and publications, including Associated Press, Reuters, USA Today, Chicago Reader, Kalamazoo Gazette, Northwest Herald, Evanston Now, and Chicago Grid. Meslar’s photos have been published in Time Magazine, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Politico, among others.
